News Olivier Kikteff, of the incredible gypsy jazz outfit Les Doigts de l'Homme, is now the proud owner of a D hole 14 model made by yours truly. "La rencontre" happened in the super-packed, super-charged Quecumbar in Battersea, where the band was performing in the week-long celebration of the centenary anniversary of Django. After the gig Olivier agreed to try the guitar out. He liked it... he bought it....end of story! The look of the instrument has been simplified to remove any time consuming (and costly) embellishments and it is constructed using carefully selected 2nd or 3rd quality woods (chosen rather for their sounding quality than their look). The guitar is lacquered only on the soundboard and headstock, the rest of the body and neck are finished with Danish oil. The hard case is also replaced by a padded gig-bag.
